World 1st for Sepax in Routine Automated Regenerative Medicine
Duesseldorf, Germany January 17th 2008
Sepax is the first and only automated cell processing to be used in the processing of autologous bone marrow for cardiovascular regenerative medicine treatment.
Since Nov 2006, Sepax has been used at José Carreras Eurocord/Netcord Bank Germany, Institute for Transplantation Diagnostics and Cell Therapeutics, Heinrich-Heine-University Medical Center, Düsseldorf, Germany in over 300 routine procedures where mononuclear cells from the patient's bone marrow are isolated before being re-infused into the patient's heart to treat damaged heart muscle following myocardial infarction.
Sepax allows the automated isolation and red-cell depletion of mononuclear cells from bone marrow and other cellular products in a closed, GMP environment and its use in the stringent German regulatory environment is testament to the efficacy of the Sepax system.
